It seemed appropriate, in the scheme of things, to start with a quote about love because, if we've learned anything at all about this crazy journey we're on, it would have to be defined by this word and this word alone. (Although, if you're looking for the short list, we have ALSO learned not to wallpaper together, how to sleep with one leg on the floor because there are so many children sleeping in our bed on any given occasion, how to treat mosquito bites by putting a fingernail "X" into them, that even life-threatening illnesses can and will be cured the moment the school bus rolls away from your children's bus stop, that many of life's problems can be solved with either a little Jesus, a little cookie dough ice cream or an impromptu broadway musical in our living room, or some combination of the three, and that lots of comic moments are only truly hilarious in retrospect) We are finding that, as is true with much of life, the more we know, the less we know.

In searching for something that would be meaningful for our rather small readership, we were trying to find some outlet for those who we certainly don't get to see often enough to "catch up" with us. Not that there is really any way to catch up well without some serious face to face time. It seems that, for the most part these days, "face time" with the Reyfamilyseven comes in the way of dinner time, soccer games, cross country meets and church events. In the crazy-busy circus that represents our lives, we are always so glad to have a few moments where the "dust settles" and we are able to re-group a little. (Or do some laundry - ugh!) In any case, we are hoping that having our own family website will be an easy way for us to communicate with others; we plan to post new pictures soon of some of what our summer has entailed!
